Braininnovations

Brain innovations was established as a joint venture to integrate the very rapid new developments in brain research and technology to create new treatments for untreatable diseases.

Brain innovations came about when the people of the Belgian BRAI3N group started to collaborate with the Delft University of Technology and the Neurosciences department of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Braininnovations was founded in 2005 by Dirk De Ridder and Eddy van der Velden. The aim of Braininnovations is to improve the existing generation of neurostimulators, for example by using microchips, wires that have smaller dimensions and are unbreakable, mini batteries that are powered by the body itself, bluetooth control using smart phones, user-friendliness for the patient and good security by encrypting the data that he can also send via the smart phone to the specialist.

These improvements should result in the creation of new techniques that are more patient-friendly.
